Giving Back
At Real Estate’s SEO we want to give back to make the world a better place. We want to do something related to our business, but feel that before people need search engine optimization, the internet, or even a computer, having a home is necessary. When we heard that families are living in a landfill in Tijuana, Mexico using the waste for food and shelter we knew they could really use our help. Bittersweet Ministries builds homes for these families. They collect donations for all of their building supplies then teams of 10-15 missionaries each spend a week in Tijuana to build a house for a gracious family. With each website we optimize we pledge to donate a portion of our profits to provide building materials for these families.
On top of providing homes, Bittersweet Ministries gives other support to the families. They provide a daycare where children are guaranteed two meals per day and give scholarships to children so they can go to school. They teach English and offer Bible studies for families. Twice a year doctors come to the landfill to take care of neglected medical needs.
Bittersweet Ministries is run by volunteers. Teams of missionaries come for a week at a time to build the houses and distribute food and supplies to families and the daycare. Most volunteers go to Tijuana during school breaks, so usually there is a team building a house each week during winter, spring, and summer vacations. Therefore, each dollar we donate goes directly to the physical goods these families need to survive and not to wasteful administrative expenses.
