Be careful not to over-stuff your page with too many keywords. After you’ve designed your page ask a friend, “Does this sound good to you?” Your friend should be able to tell you if your website sounds natural or too repetitive. Be careful not to stuff your links with too many keywords either. For example, I work in Upper Arlington, Dublin, and Worthington, three suburbs. I wouldn’t want to use “Upper Arlington Houses” “Dublin Houses” and “Worthington Houses” as my anchor text for those links. It doesn’t seem natural to readers or search engines. There have been cases where very good, popular, optimized sites have have suddenly ranked lower than normal when they were “punished” by the search engines. As soon as they removed the repetitive keywords, their rankings suddenly jumped back up to their original position.
